Duck Season Success

We’re pleased the 2025 Victorian recreational Duck hunting season was a success.

We spent many weekends chatting to hunters throughout the state and everyone got great bags of game birds in fantastic condition.

The season wasn’t without it’s hiccups though. Some productive waterbodies were closed for the entirety of the season even when threatened species had moved off. Animal Activists, posing as “rescuers” hindered hunters throughout the season, placing dangerous devices at entrances to hunting areas and even destroying hunters hides.

As always, Jeff Bourman MP stood up for hunters again, bringing concerns about these activists’ dangerous behavior to the direct attention of the Minister.

Protesters left destructive devices at a wetland near Colac, these devices were intentionally designed to indiscriminately impact vehicles. They could also be harmful to people, imagine if an emergency vehicle was impacted?

Protesters out near Sale intentionally destroyed hunters hides.

Jeff Bourman MP spoke directly with the minister for outdoor recreation about protester activity.
